Therapeutic Nurturing Touch
What is Therapeutic Nurturing Touch?
Human contact is a basic need that is often not met in our increasingly isolated and disconnected culture.
Sometimes called “professional cuddling” these sessions can include hand-holding, hugging, cuddling, and deep breathing exercises to calm the nervous system and bring a sense of mindfulness and peace.
Look here for more info on the benefits of touch: Cuddling Benefits including the potential for boosting immunity, fighting depression, and reducing stress.
I’ve done the Cuddlist training, a workshop on the elements of touch, several hours of training with the wheel of consent, and an 8 hour workshop called “The Universe Behind the Hug”. Other credentials include a year+ of massage training (clinical, deep tissue, relaxation and Thai), several somatic courses, 10 years of working in caregiving especially giving hospice massage and learning how to hold space for other humans. Caring for humans and holding space for everything you’re afraid to be in polite society is my calling. Cry. Complain. Be sad, be petty, be joyful, or some other secret, fourth thing. I accept you.
I bring big motherly energy to the space, or loving friend energy if that’s more your vibe. Nonjudgement and safety are important to me. My intention is to offer and hold space for you to relax completely into a sense of being cared for. I nerd out on the nervous system and somatics work, with somatics coaching and bodywork available in tandem with cuddles.
Note: Depending on your preferences, sessions don’t have to include cuddling specifically, especially if you are not ready for that level of physical contact. Anything you would like to request, like hand holding, or just talking together is also completely appropriate.
Sessions are $100/hr
